About

Dabblesmith – Making all kinds of stuff

My name is Kevin and I am a dabbler.  I say this because I dabble in so many hobbies and am not an expert, by any means, in any of them.  Some of the hobbies I dabble in include woodworking, leather working, disc golf (more of an obsession, really), rubber stamp making, electronics, and dyeing golf discs.  However, this isn’t just a place for me to share my interests and dabblesmithing, my incredibly creative and talented wife will also share some of the projects she has created.

If you go strictly by the definitions below, you would reason that a dabblesmith is someone who makes things superficially as a secondary interest.  In this context, however, I am taking it to a broader meaning as “someone who engages in numerous crafts in a variety of mediums for their own enjoyment in their spare time.”  Wood, leather, paper, fabric, and yes, metal are just a sampling of the mediums that can be worked in.  Not an expert in any of them, but always improving in skill and developing new ones.  I hope many more will be dabblesmiths of the new renaissance.
